Olares 1.11.7 Released: Stability Improvements and Key Bug Fixes

We’re pleased to announce the release of Olares 1.11.7. This release focuses primarily on addressing issues reported by our community, with the goal of enhancing the system stability and your overall experience.

What is Olares?

Olares is an open-source sovereign cloud operating system designed to empower users with local AI capabilities and private, self-hosted services. It allows you to transform your hardware into a powerful AI home server for running cutting-edge AI models, managing personal data, automating your home, and hosting decentralized apps.

What’s new?

This release centers around refining existing features and improving the overall reliability of Olares. Here’s a look at the key improvements and bug fixes in v1.11.7.

  • Improved SMB mount stability and compatibility
    • Fixed issues with unstable connections and disconnections experienced with certain Samba servers like ZSPACE.
    • Enhanced mounting workflow: When mounting via server IP or hostname (especially servers with multiple shares like Synology NAS), you’ll now be guided to select the specific shared directories, preventing mounting errors.
    • Added support for subdirectory mounting. Now you can now mount specific subdirectories within a Samba share (use with caution, as compatibility may vary).
  • Upgrade reliability
    • Fixed a bug that could cause system upgrades to fail if the local name of Olares ID consisted of 8 pure digits.
  • Enhanced application management
    • Addressed an issue where uninstalling certain applications (such as Dify) did not fully clear cache directories, preventing subsequent reinstallation.
    • Optimized the image pulling mechanism by using the unpack parameter. This effectively prevents “unpack errors” during container startup.
  • Market reliability
    • Marked Olares Market as a critical cluster application to prevent it from being unexpectedly evicted by kubelet during periods of system resource pressure. This ensures continuous service availability.
    • Fixed an issue where insufficient member resource quota was incorrectly displayed as cluster resource shortages for certain applications.
  • Files fixes
    • Fixed a bug where sorting the download list could potentially lead to download failures.
    • Resolved an issue where download location paths might appear garbled.
    • Corrected incorrect shared library status display on LarePass mobile.
  • Wise refinements
    • Fixed multiple interface display issues, including being unable to save RSS feed descriptions and abnormal preference settings display.
    • Resolved various functionality bugs including pagination switching errors, incorrect tag creation prompts, abnormal download record management, inconsistent article list positioning, and duplicate downloads.
    • Optimized the display panel style and behavior after window scaling.

App development via Dev Containers

We do have a new feature for application developers. Studio now supports app development based on Dev Containers, providing a standard, convenient, and isolated development environment to improve app development efficiency.

Additions in Olares Market

We are constantly expanding the capabilities of Olares through applications. As always, several new applications are now available in Olares Market in this release:

  • ComfyUI Shared: the shared version of ComfyUI that allows multiple users to share models, plugins, and workflow resources within the cluster. It also features ComfyUI Launcher, providing administrators with a simple way to manage ComfyUI resources and runtime environments.
  • xybotv2: Feature-rich WeChat bot framework.
  • heygem: Fully offline video synthesis tool for accurate cloning of your appearance and voice.
  • facefusion: Leading platform for advanced face processing.
  • echomimicv2: Easily converts static images into animated videos featuring upper-body motion.
  • funclip: Open-source, locally hosted automated video editing tool.
  • Cosyvoice: Multi-language speech synthesis model offering comprehensive inference, training, and deployment capabilities.
  • Firecrawl: API service for crawling and transforming websites into structured large-model-ready data formats.
